From the Page is a book for the busy elementary classroom teacher who wants to infuse theater and music into their curriculum. In just ten easy steps, they will learn how to create and perform an original show with their students.
Ann Noriel is a professional opera singer who has toured
throughout the US and Asia. Early in her career, she fell
in love with performing children’s theater and teaching in
the classroom. This was such a passion that she cofounded
Southland Sings, a company solely devoted to performances
and workshops for children.
Through her company, she created My Story, My Voice: Poetry to Song, a program
where classroom students become the writers, composers and performers of their
own original musical. With some guidance and support from Ms. Noriel, classroom
teachers quickly learned how to put together an original show with their studentseven
teachers with little or no experience in theater and music. The results were so
profound, she decided to share it with the world through her first book, From the Page
to the Stage.
Ms. Noriel and her staff love to teach both students and teachers how to create their own original show. If you would like help with any part of your project we are here to help. Maybe you need your lyrics set to music or you want ideas on staging and acting . We can help with any aspect of your production in order to make it the most memorable project for you and your students.
